Chairman & CEO
Gray Hall joined Alert Logic as CEO in 2009 as a 20-year veteran of the IT industry. Since his tenure began, Gray has built a new executive team, focused the company’s growth strategy on hosting and cloud service providers, driven revenue growth from less than $10 million to more than $50 million in annual revenue, acquired Armorlogic, and re-capitalized the company in a buyout transaction with Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe. Prior to Alert Logic, Hall was CEO of VeriCenter, a managed hosting provider he co-founded in 1999 and grew from start-up to $80 million in annual revenue until its successful sale to SunGard Data Systems in 2007. After VeriCenter, Gray served as Executive-in-Residence at Fidelity Equity Partners, a $500 million middle-market buyout fund backed by Fidelity Investments. Earlier in his career Hall spent seven years at IBM, where he led the formation and launch of IBM’s Center for Scalable Computing Solutions in 1994, and several years in the venture capital industry.
Chief Financial Officer
Paul Marvin joined Alert Logic in 2012 to oversee the company’s financial and accounting operations. Marvin brings more than 25 years of financial industry experience, most recently as the CFO at CyrusOne, a company specializing in high availability, high density data center services, which was acquired by Cincinnati Bell in 2010. He previously held a variety of management positions in both accounting and strategic planning at Royal Caribbean Cruises, Loomis Fargo & Co., and Live Nation. Marvin also spent nine years with Price Waterhouse and has held volunteer positions with the United Way. A Certified Public Accountant, Marvin received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN.
Senior Vice President of Sales
As Senior Vice President of Sales, North America, Greg Davis is responsible for driving Alert Logic resources to pursue the most attractive growth opportunities, best utilize multiple go-to-market channels, and communicate consistently with customers and partners. Davis leads direct, inside and channels sales, including sales support functions such as partner management, account management, and training. Davis’ responsibility for customer and partner management ensures a tight relationship between Alert Logic and its partners as the company jointly develops revenue initiatives addressing the cloud’s most compelling needs. Davis joined Alert Logic in 2009 with a background in both large and emerging markets. His experience includes more than a decade in hosting and managed services. Prior to Alert Logic, Davis served in leadership positions with SunGard, VeriCenter and Global Data Systems. Davis is a graduate of Louisiana State University.
Chief Marketing Officer
Ben Matheson joined Alert Logic in 2013 as Chief Marketing Officer. In this role, he leads the marketing and branding efforts across all marketing functions at the company. Prior to joining Alert Logic, Matheson spent over 16 years at leading technology companies such as Amazon Web Services, VMware and Microsoft. Most recently, he served as General Manager, Field and Partner Marketing at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he was responsible for leading the global field and partner marketing team since early 2011. During his tenure at AWS, Matheson also launched the AWS Partner Network program and grew its global ecosystem to over 8,000 partners. Prior to joining AWS, Matheson ran Global Partner Marketing at VMware, helping the company grow from $387M to $2.9B in revenue during his five years at the company. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years at Microsoft in a variety of marketing, business development and product management positions. Matheson graduated from Northeastern University and currently serves on the Board of Visitors at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business.
Senior Vice President of Product Development & CTO
Dave Colesante joined Alert Logic in 2010 to lead the company’s product development efforts. Colesante brings more than 20 years of IT and service provider experience to this role. Before joining Alert Logic, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Managed Services for SunGard Availability Services. Previously, he co-founded and served as SVP of Operations and CTO at VeriCenter. Prior to VeriCenter, Colesante co-founded and served as COO at Jones Business Systems, Inc., a high-growth infrastructure business, and previously he was Director of UNIX Support Services at WPDS/Microware Distributors, where he led technical teams and contributed to overall business management. Colesante holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics from State University of New York at Potsdam.
Senior Vice President of Operations
Marty McGuffin joined Alert Logic in 2009 and is responsible for Alert Logic’s managed services, including the company’s Security Operations Center (SOC), technical support, cloud infrastructure, provisioning, software release, and all other aspects of service delivery. Prior to Alert Logic, McGuffin served as the Vice President of Service Delivery at SunGard Availability Services, where he was responsible for the operations of the Managed Services line of business. Prior to SunGard, he held the position of Director of Service Operations at VeriCenter, a leading managed IT hosting provider that was acquired by SunGard in 2007. Previously, McGuffin served in operations leadership positions at Hewitt and Associates, Exult Corporation and the U.S. Marine Corps.
Chief Strategy Officer & Co-Founder
Misha Govshteyn co-founded Alert Logic in 2002. Govshteyn is responsible for security strategy, security research and software development at Alert Logic. Prior to founding Alert Logic, Govshteyn served as a Director of Managed Services for Reliant Energy Communications. In this role, he developed and successfully launched five major product lines including Managed Intrusion Detection Services and Managed Enterprise Firewall/VPN Products. Under Govshteyn’s direction, Managed Services was the fastest growing group at Reliant Energy Communications, increasing revenue by 300 percent and reaching profitability in less than a year. Prior to Reliant Energy Communications, he held the position of Director of Advanced Technical Services at Insync Internet Services.
Vice President of Business Development
Rohit Gupta joined Alert Logic in 2011 and is responsible for driving the corporate and business development strategy and execution. Prior to joining Alert Logic, Gupta was Sr. Director Global Alliances at Trend Micro where he established and managed its worldwide partnerships with VMware, HP and Cisco. Previously, he served as Vice President of Business Development at Imperva where he created their OpenSphere partner program and started their MSSP business unit. Gupta was also at Oracle, Segue Software and Borland in various positions in product development, product management, sales, and worldwide channels and alliances. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in computer and electrical engineering from Purdue University.
Vice President, Product Management
Chris Noell joined Alert Logic in early 2012 to lead product strategy, prioritization and execution to both expand and accelerate Alert Logic’s delivery of innovative, cloud-based security and compliance solutions. Noell brings to Alert Logic a wealth of experience in risk management and compliance products and services for the enterprise market. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Product Management with ANX eBusiness, a managed network and security service provider. Noell joined ANX through the acquisition of TruArx, where he was a founder and board member. TruArx focused on delivering governance, risk and compliance SaaS solutions with a particular focus on the PCI DSS market. Noell also served as Vice President of Marketing at Solutionary, an enterprise-focused managed security service provider, in addition to other senior leadership roles at Verisign, Cabletron and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting.
Vice President, Service Provider Sales
Fritz Maxwell joined Alert Logic in 2009 as an 18-year sales veteran of the IT services industry. As Vice President of Service Provider Sales, Maxwell is responsible for developing and managing Alert Logic’s partner program, and leading the resources dedicated toward joint sales and marketing efforts in support of Alert Logic’s extensive partner network. Prior to joining Alert Logic, he held multiple sales and sales leadership positions at SunGard, Vericenter, HP, and Xerox. Maxwell is a graduate of the Mays School of Business at Texas A&M University.
Vice President, Regional Sales
Michael Stoeger joined Alert Logic in 2005 with 15 years experience in security and compliance. His experience includes field, international, alliance, and channel sales. Prior to Alert Logic, Stoeger spent nine years in leadership positions with BindView (acquired by Symantec), growing revenue from $3M to $80M. Some of his roles at BindView included Regional Sales Manager, Director of EMEA Operations, Alliances Director and Director Global Channels. Before BindView, Stoeger spent three years in sales and management positions at Software Spectrum. As Vice President, Regional Sales, Stoeger is responsible for driving Alert Logic Public Cloud sales through VAR, consultant, and direct channels. Stoeger’s team includes veteran account executives across the country, inside sales, and public cloud partner development. Key to success is recruiting and developing talent to drive high performance. Stoeger leads programs for the sales team, customers, and partners to provide the most successful security and compliance outcomes in the industry. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
Vice President of Sales, EMEA
David Howorth joined Alert Logic in 2013 as Vice President of Sales, EMEA. As the first employee of Alert Logic’s UK office, Howorth is responsible for establishing and overseeing the UK Sales team as the company embarks on its global expansion. Howorth joined Alert Logic from Verizon Enterprise Solutions’ Global Strategic Services, where he most recently served as Area Vice President, Verizon Enterprise Solutions Global Strategic Services. During his tenure at Verizon, Howorth held numerous leadership positions, including Regional Vice President EMEA of both the Security Solutions and the Cloud & IT business units. In these positions, Howorth played a key role in the successful launch adoption of cloud and security services in EMEA as well as developing numerous strategic partnerships in support of outcome-based cloud solutions. Prior to Verizon, Howorth held leadership positions at several security startups, including Vice President of Sales at NetSec and Sales Director of Defcom. These roles came after a successful nine-year career in the insurance industry where he worked at Heath Lambert plc, in their Financial Institutions and Professional Indemnity division. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southampton.
