Cloud Computing Architecture
Alert Logic's cloud-based solution delivery platform is designed for rapid deployment, zero maintenance, and maximum ease of ownership for our customers and partners. As a software as a service (SaaS) solution, our technologies leverage the power of cloud computing to deliver power and convenience that on-premise hardware and software products can't possibly deliver.
Our customers only need to deploy an Alert Logic network appliance (both virtual and physical appliance packages are available)– no additional software or hardware infrastructure is necessary. All other solution components such as the management portal, reporting engine, historical data repository, and configuration data all reside in the Alert Logic datacenter, not on our customers' networks. The only software you need to access our solution is a browser. The result is virtually no customer resources spent deploying, configuring, maintaining, or upgrading our solution.
Our SaaS solution platform consists of two basic components that collectively enable an unprecedented level of ease of ownership:
- The network appliance is the only component that resides on-premise and is responsible for collecting and forwarding log, threat, and vulnerability data to our datacenter for further processing
- The software-as-a-service component is hosted in our datacenter and is responsible for analyzing and securely archiving data from all Alert Logic customer appliances across the globe. This component also supplies all real-time and historical trending and reporting via the customer web portal.
