Alert Logic Acquires Critical Watch for Enhanced Security Scanning and Analytics Capabilities

Dallas-Based Critical Watch Brings 14 Years of Security Expertise and Innovation in Cloud IT Solutions

HOUSTON, TX – January 6, 2015 – Alert Logic, the leading provider of Security-as-a-Service solutions for the cloud, today announced the acquisition of Dallas-based Critical Watch to further enhance its vulnerability and configuration scanning, security analytics and vulnerability research capabilities.

“Critical Watch has delivered proven security intelligence and vulnerability management solutions to some of the world’s most demanding enterprises,” said Gray Hall, CEO of Alert Logic. “The integration of the Critical Watch team and their related technologies into the Alert Logic portfolio will enable us to more quickly reach our stated goal of providing outcome-focused security for our customers.”

Innovations from Critical Watch include FusionVM and the Active Countermeasure Intelligence (ACI) Platform. FusionVM delivers vulnerability assessment, PCI compliance scanning and configuration auditing services. The ACI Platform is a security platform used for exposure and defense modeling and countermeasure recommendations. ACI Platform analytics collects and analyzes information from disparate security technologies, as well as contextual information from risk, compliance and governance sources to compare vulnerabilities with mitigation and protection actions to analyze and prioritize threats and offer countermeasures.

“The two companies have been charting a similar course – bringing market-leading, managed security products to customers regardless of where their deployments reside – in the cloud or on-premises,” said Eva Bunker, CEO and co-founder of Critical Watch. “Like Alert Logic, Critical Watch products were built to realize an ambitious vision of security intelligence and we’re thrilled to team with one of the fastest-growing cloud security providers today to provide customers with a more secure cloud computing environment.”
