HOUSTON – June 22, 2016– Alert Logic (www.alertlogic.com), the leading provider of Security-as-a-Service solutions for the cloud, today announced that Alert Logic Cloud Defender customers will receive Alert Logic Cloud Insight as part of the comprehensive cloud security product suite. Cloud Defender customers will now be able to access Cloud Insight’s cloud-native vulnerability and configuration management capabilities, giving users a complete view of instances and exposures across both the operating system and their applications running on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Additionally, the Cloud Defender product suite unveiled a refreshed user interface, as well as additional features and technologies to help customers more effectively secure their workloads running on AWS.
“Companies of all sizes are moving business critical applications to the cloud with increasing frequency and it’s critical that cloud security keep pace,” said Dave Colesante, Chief Operating Officer of Alert Logic. “With the addition of Cloud Insight and other key enhancements to the Cloud Defender platform, customers now experience enhanced vulnerability management and threat detection for their applications and data on AWS.”
With the enhancements to the Cloud Defender product suite, customers will have the following new capabilities for their AWS workloads:
- Continual Configuration and Vulnerability Visibility. This includes an increased level of visibility from scans, as well as automated scanning, grouped and prioritized remediation and API integration capabilities for simplified management of the security posture of EC2 instances.
- Coordinated Scanning. Cloud Defender now includes an AWS cross-account role capability that ensures all Alert Logic initiated scans, both internal and external, are aware and coordinated. Customers can satisfy ongoing internal vulnerability scanning requirements for AWS, as well as external scanning for PCI compliance requirements.
- Efficient Agent and Appliance Communication. Cloud Defender and Alert Logic Threat Manager can now automatically assign agents to appliances within the same AWS Availability Zone, keeping all agent-to-appliance communications contained with the Availability Zone.
- Elastic Agent Lifecycle Management. Cloud Defender and Threat Manager better leverage AWS APIs and will dynamically scale agents up and automatically remove agents no longer required as instances are spun down.
While Cloud Insight can still be purchased as a standalone product, it will be included in the Cloud Defender product suite for all new and existing customers. Cloud Defender is afully managed, cloud-based security and compliance suite that delivers intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, web application threat detection, log and security event analysis, big data security analytics, security monitoring, threat intelligence research and security content management.
